Radford Dale, Vinum Grenache 2022

Radford Dale is a fully organic winery with vineyards across South Africa's storied regions of Stellenbosch and Elgin. Believing in a philosophy that "the land decides", the team at Radford Dale pride themselves on allowing nature to do its thing, as the best wines are made with as little human intervention as possible. Vinum Grenache 2022 is taken from two vineyards, one on the Helderberg, overlooking the ocean, the other on the Stellenbosch Mountain. They grow in rocky koffie klip soils, with decomposed granite and a deep sub-layer of clay. The grapes were hand-harvested and aged in old French for 11 months prior to release. The wine is a deep crimson in colour with a ruby rim. Subtle blueberry and strawberry notes over graphite on the nose. Heartily fruited palate is reined in by firm, but polished tannins before a lingering pomegranate finish.
